School Groups FAQs

How large can the school group be?

We take groups of up to 30 children per class. If you have a large year group and you wish to use the same day for the year group, please get in touch to discuss the possibilities.

Do you offer curriculum-linked sessions?

Let us take over for the day! We offer a range of curriculum-linked school sessions, specially designed by our outdoor educators, which make full use of our fantastic 100 acres of woodland, meadows, river and ponds.

Can you support children with special educational needs?

We are committed to supporting those with special educational needs. We aim to create equal opportunities for everybody to experience, learn about and get involved at Footprints on the Moon no matter what ability. Please tell us your requirements when you make your booking.

What ratio cover do you have and do we need adult helpers?

Our suggested adult/pupil ratios are as follows:

  • Early Years Foundation Stage - 1:3

  • Key Stage 1 - 1:6

  • Key Stage 2 and 3 - 1:10

  • Key Stage 4 - 1:15

  • Key Stage 5 - 1:20.

Please feel free to add additional adult helpers if you wish - just let us know numbers when you book.

Where should we meet?

All education groups will be met by one of our educators at the car park, where they will help you get organised and discuss any immediate health and safety.

Do you have a base for our belongings?

We have options to store your belongings, but ask that you to keep all valuable items on your person.

Where can we eat our food?

We recommend that you bring a packed lunch. We offer all education groups space to eat lunch and store bags.

How do you deal with Health and Safety?

We do our utmost to ensure that your school visit is fun, worthwhile and safe. You can find all our risk assessment process guidelines via Learning Outside The Classroom. If you have any concerns, please contact us directly on 07432 103 446.

When should we visit?

We welcome educational visits Monday to Friday, term time only. Please get in touch to check our availability.
