Birthday Party FAQs

“We had a great day with Footprints on the Moon for my 7 year old’s birthday party! Bonfire, marshmallows, raft building and plodging in the river with enthusiastic hosts. Fantastic!”

What's your maximum numbers for birthday parties?

We can cater for parties of a minimum of 20 children. Additional children (up to 5) are charged at £10 per head. Children over 5 years old can attend without their parents, but of course the birthday boy/girl’s parents are welcome to stay and participate.

Do you supply food?

We sure do - you can choose from quesadilla pizzas or sausages. There's also the chance for s’mores round the campfire!

Can you cater for dietary requirements and allergies?

Absolutely! This information can be provided at the time of booking.

Do you offer invitations and decorations?

Yes. A personalised invitation will be provided after we receive your deposit. This contains all the party information and takes the pressure of you! We always decorate our camp with beautiful handmade bunting, little touches around the fire circle, and have a special birthday message for the party host. You can bring your own decorations, but we ask for them to be as eco-friendly as possible please. All belongings are to be taken away at the end of your party. Important: we don't allow balloons or glitter.

“We had our son’s 6th birthday party at Plessey Woods a few weekends ago and we couldn’t have asked for more from the Footprints on the Moon team; they were absolutely wonderful from start to finish! My son’s words at bedtime that night spoke volumes: “that was the best party EVER!” thanks so much and totally recommend.”

What do we do if the weather is bad?

Parties will always go ahead no matter what the weather! Our tarp canopies keep us dry around the campfire when we’re eating. For very adverse conditions, we’ll assess on the morning and be in contact with you as soon as possible.

Where is the meeting point at Plessey Woods Country Park?

From the car park you head to the Visitor’s Centre, then take a left on the public footpath. The entrance to our camp is clearly signposted. Outside camp is our meeting point until everyone arrives.

Do parents pay for car parking?

Car parking charges are enforced by Northumberland County Council at Plessey Woods. Please be advised, car park wardens do monitor this daily.

What do we need to bring with us?

Waterproofs to keep you dry and water bottle to stay hydrated.

Do you offer bespoke birthday parties?

We love unique, bespoke parties! Themes such as Robin Hood, Forest Fairies or even (children's favourite) a Julia Donaldson book can be tailored at your request. Please get in touch for more information.

Do we pay a deposit?

A non-refundable deposit of £20, which will be deducted off your final bill.
