Home Education
As more parents start to hear about the benefits of non-traditional education, more families are choosing to home educate. Adding a day at Forest School is a perfect complement, echoing much of the philosophy behind home education. With an emphasis on child-led and play-based learning that supports the individuality of the children, Forest School provides an opportunity to learn and develop at their own speed and in their own way.
No two days are the same, and plans may change in the moment depending on the interest and mood of the group. A day out of the ‘home classroom’ has benefits for children and parents alike, not only adding variety to the weekly schedule, but also providing an extra source of inspiration and stimulation for learning.
A conventional school may not be the right environment for all children, at all stages of their lives. For those who don’t thrive in a typical classroom format, spending time learning in the forest gives them the space to discover and develop their own talents and skills, in a way that works for them.
We focus on providing individual and positive attention, nurturing self-confidence, self-regulation and the development of problem-solving approaches which can be carried through to other areas of life.
